Apart from his studies, John loves to spend time with people. He describes himself as a “people person.” His goal is to have a biblically vibrant church, which has a passion to worship God, nurture people, and reach out to the world. John Lee is ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and is on staff at the Korean Christian Fellowship (KCF) at Rutgers University. He and his wife, Mimi, have one boy, Caleb.

John's walk with the Lord started in his freshman year of college. Together with long-time friend Reverend John, he founded Good News Church PCA, because he felt that there was a need for a church that truly loved Christ and His teachings.

His desire for Good News Church PCA is that it grows to love one another more deeply as it realizes what a family of God truly means. Also, he desires that Good News Church comes to a better knowledge of God and the work of Christ, so that the church will become a people rich and dynamic in deed for the glory of our Lord and Savior.

His hobbies are Kendo, reading, eating gummy bears, and drinking a few cold cans of coke.
